The different Kinds of Moon Missions

Chandrayaan 3 :The Chandrayaan-3 mission is India’s third lunar mission and second attempt to make a soft landing on the surface of the Moon.

There are largely six kinds of Moon missions :- flybys, orbiters, impact missions, landers, rovers, and human missions.

Orbiters : These were satellites that were intended to enter a lunar orbit and conduct in-depth investigations of the Moon's atmosphere and surface

Impact Mission : They are a development of Orbiter missions. One or more of the spacecraft's instruments crash-land on the moon's surface as the main spaceship continues to orbit the moon

Landers : These missions require a soft Moon landing by the spacecraft. Compared to Orbiter missions, these are more challenging. In actuality, all 11 of the initial attempts at lander missions had failed.

Flybys: These either had the objective of studying the Moon at a distance or were travelling to another planetary body or a deep space exploration target when they just so happened to pass by the celestial object.

Rovers : Rovers are built to go around this obstacle. The lander has unique wheeled payloads called rovers that can separate from the spacecraft and travel around on the moon's surface, gathering highly important data that the lander's internal equipment would not be able to gather.

Human missions : These entail the astronauts setting foot on the moon's surface. Only NASA from the United States has so far succeeded in setting foot on the moon.
